2016年8月19日下午,美国北卡罗来纳大学常小莎教授应我院柴之芳院长邀请来访我院并做了题为“Beyond Radiation Induced DNA Double Strand Breaks - a New Horizon for Radiation Therapy Research”的精彩学术报告。报告由周光明特聘教授主持,他对常小莎教授的到访表示热烈的欢迎,并简要介绍了常小莎教授及我院的情况。

常小莎教授是美国医学物理学协会会士,同时也是放射肿瘤学方面的专家。她用诙谐幽默的语言和实例详细阐述放射治疗所面临的新问题、放射医学研究的新机遇与挑战。她的报告内容丰富,包括立体定向分次放射治疗(SFRT)、大剂量冲击治疗所引起的复杂的瀑布生物效应、辐射旁效应、辐射纳米载药系统、肿瘤微环境与免疫治疗等等。她的报告引起了师生强烈的兴趣,大家就报告内容展开了热烈讨论。

报告报告结束后,周光明教授等陪同下常小莎教授参观了学院的实验平台。
常小莎教授简介:
Professor Sha Chang is 77届大学生。She received her BS degree in Physics from Nanking University in 1982 and Ph.D. degree in experimental solid state physics from Clark University (USA) in 1988. She then went to Harvard Medical School to receive formal medical physics training as a postdoctoral fellow. Professor Chang has been in the University of North Carolina since 1991. She has taken positions of Director of Clinical Physics, Chief of Physics &Computing, and Director of Medical Physics Residency Program in the Department of Radiation Oncology. Professor Chang's recent research focus is on innovative multidisciplinary research. In the last decades she has led various innovative multidisciplinary research projects. She has been awarded with more than 15 research grants from NIH, has 5 issues patents. She was honored by the media and the professional community, that she was the First Woman ever, took the title of "Chief of Radiation Oncology" in US. Professor Chang is an elected Fellow in the American Association of Medical Physics.
